This web page is here to help you to calculate what any date in the future will be in Star Trek©'s Stardate format.
Some Basic Assumptions: There are some basic assumptions that are made when calculating stardates:Please see http://www.region13.org/newsletter/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=6 for the full explanation of how it works.
- Each year is equal to 1000 stardates
- xx000 of any stardate denotes the beginning of a calendar year

The mathematical formula and calculations were originally worked out by David Klingman, a man of many hats who loves writing fan fiction, and who wanted to make sure that he could base his fiction in the correct time and date in Star Trek©'s dating format.
The web page you're looking at was created by Dave Blaser. He did all the physical coding to the web page, the error checking routines, creation of the title graphic, and the web hosting.
Together, they are STARFLEET's CommoDave's!

World peace would be nice, but we'll just settle for a word of thanks.
The page was created so that fans who write Star Trek© fan fiction based in the Star Trek: The Next Generation©, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine©and Star Trek: Voyager© era can keep their dates fairly uniform, and hopefully will be easier to collaborate on story writing.
If you really want to thank us somehow, credit the stardate calculator in your fiction somewhere, and donate a few bucks to one of the following:We're in it for the fun, and there are those out there who need help much more than we do.
- Your local women's shelter
- Your local Humane Society
- A local needy well-deserving charity
Oh, and if you do use the Stardate Calculator for your fiction, send us a copy of your fiction! Dave Blaser loves to have that kind of stuff for his archives!
